What is a Poker Run?
Many of you may not know what a Poker Run is. Below is a description of how it works:
- Each rider will be given a small sheet of paper with each stop listed on it, a place to record the card(s) drawn and a spot for the dealers initials or stamp.
- At each stop there will be a table with cards on it.
- A "Dealer" will be stationed at the table.
- Each participant will "draw" a card, show it to the dealer and the dealer will mark the card on the participants piece of paper and will either initial or stamp the entry (as verification).
- The card that was drawn will be put into the discard pile.
- Each participant is allowed to draw only one card unless the stop is a 2-draw stop.
- This routine is repeated at each stop and for each card drawn.
- After drawing their last card at the last stop,
participants will turn their sheet of paper to have their printed name and poker hand recorded.
- The highest hand at the pre-established end-time will win a prize.
- There will be a prize
for the winning Motorcycle hand and the Winning Bicycle hand.
- In the event of a tie, the potential winning
participants will draw poker hands as described above to determine the winner.
There will also be a raffle for prize(s)
that will be
announced following
the announcement of
the winning poker
hands at the end of the event. Raffle tickets will be available for purchase at the start and at the end of the event until the
pre-established end-time. Raffle tickets will not be available for purchase at the intermediate stops along the ride event. It is not necessary to be present to win the raffle prize(s). Specific poker hand and raffle prize(s) are to be determined and will be announced as we get closer to the event.
